Engineering - Project Support (Project Information Specialist)

Provides project engineering support to internal engineering and document strategies departments as well as external parties (A&E firms, vendors, suppliers). Is a key resource for project information to multi client groups. Responsible for managing all engineering and construction project documentation such as: architect and engineering design drawings, vendor submittals, shop drawings, EQ manuals, etc. Responsible to ensure all documents meet quality standards for processing. Coordinates with others to obtain missing or incomplete information. Responsible to update logs, databases, corporate applications and servers. Also will coordinate shipments of documentation to and from inside/outside reproduction facilities and sites. Technical requirements: Requires a high level of skill in electronic and hard copy file management. Required to receive, retrieve, quality check, prepare, print, scan, upload). MUST be proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office products (especially Windows Explorer, Excel and Outlook.) HUGE PLUS for candidates with experience in eRoom, Citadon and/or ftp. Candidate should be knowledgeable with various file types, especially .tif, .pdf, .dgn, .dwg. Must have the ability to learn and operate document reproduction equipment effectively (scanning, plotting, printing). Must be able to learn and apply company and project standards to assigned work with little guidance; ability to communicate standards to others; candidate must have experience in tracking drawings and documents throughout the engineering and construction process, will be required to monitor/track/report on all project drawings and documents. Successful candidate will be required to complete 2 weeks training in Cincinnati and will be spending some time at Cayuga, Gibson and Plainfield to get oriented to project work until the trailers are placed at Edwardsport in the fall. Once the trailers are set, Edwardsport will be their work location.

Qualifications: Graduate with a two year degree in an Engineering Technology or related field preferred, with between two (3) and five (5) years of distribution related experience. One purpose of this position may be to accurately evaluate options, and design cost effective, reliable facilities for new residential, commercial and industrial, projects. Due to this position’s customer interaction, the Engineering Associate is one of Electric Distribution’s primary face-to-face contacts with customers (both internal and external) requiring them to be self-motivated, savvy, reliable, and trustworthy as well as technically competent. Qualified to do most types of distribution design under supervision including, small residential subdivisions/projects (less than 20 lots or units), commercial and industrial projects (single & three phase) and large lightning projects. Reliability responsibilities would include investigating repeat outages affecting significant groups of customers and releasing projects for outage follow up improvements such as cable replacement and transformer retrofit. During major storms an engineering associate may be asked to scout outages and guide crews during restoration efforts. Other duties as assigned.

IT - Senior Systems Programmer

Provides first and second level support and administration for process control and other related systems. Basic qualifications include: Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that is geographically dispersed across several physical locations; to administer and support network configurations using DHCP as well as staticly addressed systems including a working knowledge of subnet masks, route tables, DNS and other related networking tools and applications; to work in a demanding user environment with frequent interruptions; to handle many projects at once; and to communicate both verbally and written with business and technical information. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a strong desire to continually improve and grow in such skills. Experience with configuration and support of system management and monitoring tools and secure FTP, SSH and other remote access tools. Candidates should list specific products they have ADMIN experience with as related to Backups, Anti-Virus, Patch Management, Active Directory, Network support, Systems Monitoring, etc.

 

Desired qualifications include: Experience with Linux systems administration including, but not limited to, physical installation, configuration, backups, restorations, patch management, monitoring, security and installation of third party software. Familiarity with firewall, router and hub configurations. System hardware experience or A+ certification. Familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements or NERC Cyber Security standards.

Structural Construction Coordinator/Supervisor Gallagher Station's baghouse project. Gallagher Station is located near Louisville KY. Work will be 50 hours a week minimum, more during outage spans or if the job gets behind schedule. Flexibility on work schedule may be required. The successful candidate will follow construction on the baghouse projects at Gallagher station. The baghouse is a pollution control system which removes particulate matter from the flue gas stream. Construction has begun on this project. Candidates local to the area will be strongly preferred. The Structural Construction Coordinator must have the following capabilities: Computer experience sufficient to fill out forms such as Contractor daily reports and Construction daily reports; be in good physical condition; experienced in structural construction procedures and practical applications; certified Welding Inspector preferred but not mandatory; experience installing structural steel and structural components; safe working habits and good general knowledge of OSHA regulations; must pass a drug test; good communication skills; and able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
